A Tribute To Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2

During the endless hours of tedium and terror in lockdown, a small pin prick of light in the darkness appeared in the form of a gaming announcement.

The “Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater” franchise was celebrating it’s 20 year anniversary with a remaster of it’s first two games, which is due to release on September 4th.

Most of the bands at Smash Mouse Records were either kids or teenagers when these games released, and this fun game celebrated skateboarding culture in a way that was accessible to more people than ever before, and with that culture came a lot of fucking awesome music.

Some of us discovered punk and alternative music through these games, and we owe a lot to the franchise for how it shaped us as people and musicians over the years.

We were so thrilled about this game coming back with most of its original soundtrack, that we wanted to pay homage to it in our own way.

So under Smash Mouse Records, 8 different music projects came together to tackle a 12 track compilation album of covers from these two game soundtracks. All recorded at home with whatever means were available during the lockdown. Most tracks are one band by itself focusing on a track with some helping hands along the way for producing, whilst one or two have members of multiple bands coming together for one song.

“A Tribute To Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2” is 12 tracks of energy and love for music, video games and alternative culture.

This compilation album is out August 28th and is available to pre-order right now!
